Last time I only showed 1 of the 3 kittens, Munchy, and it's about time I share some about the other 2, they've been here for a week now! :$ These 2 were found together, with fleas and earmite. They're still getting treatment for the earmite, cleaner on a daily base, medical treatment once a week (also for Munchy and my own cats, preventive). They felt safe in the bench quite fast, but me? They seemed clueless on me, with a hiss here and there (the grey one) but that has improved quite a bit so far! They now joined Munchy (they met her Monday for the first time) and those 3 are becoming more and more a team. Right now they're on the loose downstairs for the first time, I just took them down, Nala is doing pretty good, Munchy handles it all perfect (but that I already knew), it's just Poppy that's a bit shy and avoiding me when I approach her here now. I'll go play with them soon, bet that'll help! :D All in all they're doing well though, checking it all out instead of hiding. And with such little creatures checking out every corner, it always becomes quite clear where I slacked a bit with cleaning xD
They're no longer in the bench either, they have the kittenroom upstairs now. They're a bit shy there too, and me having to put nasty stuff in their ears doesn't help, but they're becoming more and more interested, with the help of Munchy! And food helps as well :) Oh, and Poppy is such an adorable cuddly sleepyhead, when she's really tired and I pick her up, she forgets I'm a bit scary and just sleeps and snoozes on me for ages! :L I'm far behind on pics and stories, so that'll come bit by bit. Oh, and names for these 2 took a long time, I finally decided on them this morning, the black white one is Poppy (there were some doubts about her gender, it wasn't as obvious as it can be and kitten that's a bit scared doesn't work along as well. Pretty sure it's a girl though, and else it'll just have a girly name, haha!), the grey is Nala.
This was right after their arrival, I didn't grab a box for them yet to hide in. Poppy has her usual look, big pupils! She's a kitten that freezes in place at times, while her sis is the one that's often first in discovering things.
Poor scared faces :(
Dewey shows why their food is in that basket, he likes to fish it out! The kittens are wondering what that big thing is :o
They doubted for a bit, but decided to go have a look. Look at those fluffy tails, haha! They were impressed by it all ^_^
But they quickly decided that he was safe <3
And then they started following him in the bench!
Nala shows her cute silly face :D
And they started rubbing the cage when Dew was near :) It stays awesome to see the effect he has on kittens!
Nala really tries to get close to him! (for those of you that follow my polish blog, yes, the bench is next to my polishstash, and next to that is my desk with pc, where I also do my nails :)). The cardboard behind the bench is to protect my walls by the way, it can happen that a kitten gets bad diarrhea, and then that litter box is awfully close to the walls!
Nala and Poppy quickly discovered the scratching pole :)
I'll show more in the next post!

3 little kittens...
First things first: Arthur, Mobi and Abby are all doing fantastic, look fantastic as well, and really seemed to have all found their perfect homes, yay! :D It's so nice to get an update later, just to see and/or hear how they're doing, and these 3 just looked so happy and in the perfect homes ♥ Such final updates kinda feel like the last step in the fostering process, it's not something I always get, but it's like the icing on the cake :)
Right, time for some more fostering! Last week the shelter contacted me about 3 kittens, a little girl that was at the vet and a couple that was at one of the crisis fosterhomes. The estimated date of birth of the first one is 29 May, the other 2 are estimated at 31 May, which would make them 6 weeks old today. I picked up the first 1 on Tuesday, and the other 2 on Wednesday. The little girl is doing well, the other 2 are doing fine in their bench but need some more work socializing, but more on those next time!
This black and white cutie was found with a bad backleg, she was just dragging it around behind her, and if that wasn't enough, she had cat flu as well. Her eyes were all closed up from the dirt that came out of them, and she even had some maggots coming out of her behind :( She was skinny as well, and had some little scabs here and there, and her bad leg misses a strip of hair on the inside. She also had worms, that's normal for kittens to get (they get it from mum's milk, so they should always get dewormed according to a schedule) and something you see more with kittens and cats that come to a shelter, but when you're skinny and sick and injured, that's just another thing that adds to it all! She was found and brought to the vet on Friday, where they patched her up and took X-rays of her leg. She doesn't have any broken bones, they think her tendons are damaged, which is something you can't do anything about besides give it time and hope it'll heal. It doesn't seem to hurt at all though! Once she started to get a bit better she went home with the vet's assistant (another foster family of our shelter). There I picked her up, and took her home, ready to give lots of love to this poor creature ♥ She's still on meds to treat the cat flue (twice a day antibiotics and eye ointment) and needs benchrest for her leg until tomorrow. She is such an enthusiastic, sweet little girl, and it's so sad to have to keep her locked up, while all she wants to do is race around and cuddle! Considering how she reacts to me and the few things in the house that she's seen, I think she has been around humans before. Wish they could tell us what happened to them...
Her leg is improving quite a bit already, she doesn't drag it around as much anymore, doesn't stand on her toes (folded below her paw so to say) anymore, and corrects her leg as well to place it in the right position. Like if she's sitting and her leg isn't fully as it should be, she can now pull it in to where it's supposed to be. I'm not sure if it'll heal back to 100%, but this is already a very doable situation! :D I hope I can slowly introduce her to the other 2 tomorrow, they could use her help with socializing, and she could use their help because it's best to grow up with other kittens. Right now she's upstairs, the other 2 are downstairs, to keep them separated because of their medical conditions. More on that next time, here's how she was on her first day here, when she was downstairs.
She quickly showed that she wasn't happy with being locked up at all, she just loves attention, and she meows a lot!
She has quite a pointy nose, actually her whole face is quite pointy and skinny still, but the pics don't show it as well. She looks a bit messy as well, but that's from sneezing and dirty eyes and I'm doing my best to clean her a bit here and there.
Did I already mention she meows a lot? :)
"Let me oooout!"
You can see her leg on some pics, to give you an idea, it's her right leg that you see on her left here. Very convenient for the litter box visits as well xD Luckily she only had 1 big accident like that, and now it's improved so much that I think it'll stay with that 1 time.
She straight away loved all the toys!
Oh, and Dewdew of course... :D
He just wants to sniff but she's so playful, she keeps poking him and such!
And after all of that? Time for some rest <3
I have no idea for the names of the other 2 yet, but I think I call her Munchy, 'cause boy, does she love to eat! Her normal dry food is ok, but canned food.... Oh my, I've never seen a kitten react that strongly, and shove it all in that fast! And she also likes to chew on other stuff, like me, haha! She nibbles at my fingers, my hair, my clothes, she even took some bites from my shoulder and chest, lol! That clearly needs some work... :D This morning I gave her such a big amount of canned food, and mixed in dry food, there was no way she could eat it all (I want her to learn that it's okay to eat calmly, or just leave some food, nobody will steal it or take it away). When I came upstairs later, she had dragged her blanket out of her box and placed it over the food, she probably wanted to bury it. I removed her blanket and oh! *sniff sniff* Is... is that... is that FOOD? OMG IT'S FOOD! And then she went for it again :O
Besides the happy eating moments, she's very frustrated at the moment with her benchrest, but it's for the best, I just wish I could make it easier for her. If I go upstairs, she just gets even more frustrated because she hears me and wants cuddles and playtime! I can of course give the cuddles, but if I let her loose, she runs around so fast that her leg doesn't have the time to catch up, and she just drags it along. Cuddles with her are SO cute though, she climbs in my neck and just rubs herself against my face, sometimes she even grabs my face with her paws (yay for my new glasses, that little lady has some serious claws!). She's very soft and gentle, but being a kitten and all, it can happen that one of her nails gets involved. I can't wait till tomorrow, slowly give her more time outside her bench and hopefully meet the other 2 as well :)

Abby has moved
Well then, this was the shortest fostering I've done so far, but that didn't make her any less impressive! Abby just moved to her new home, where she'll hopefully become great friends with their other cat :) It's always a bit of a surprise how kittens react to strangers, but I think she did great. Abby was a bit scared at first when her new owner came in, but ended up showing that she loves to play and enjoys some cuddles too! Before she got picked up I sat with her for quite some time, and enjoyed her cuddles one last time. And she gave it all she had, such a sweety!
But these goodbyes stay difficult, putting them in a strange cage (especially the scared ones), and hoping they'll end up having a wonderful life... And from one way I'm very happy and excited for her (and for her new owners!), but it's always sad to see fosters go as well and I'll miss her for sure. It's draining, and I don't think that'll ever change. So blankets, tea and lots of cuddles with my own cats it is! And I'm wishing this lovely little lady all the best <3
Having said all that, here are some last pictures :) Abby ignored the playtunnel while it was upstairs, so I took it down, and all of a sudden it got her interest. But that thing was quite impressive at first!
She's small enough that she could almost walk up straight through it, which especially became clear after Dewey went through, he's a lot bigger and kinda has to crouch :O
Sneaking up on Sue from behind the tunnel...
... then through it
And then she noticed me and came for cuddles instead! :D
Even when snoozing on the couch she could give me a hard time with capturing her, she would look all cute and the moment I click, she pulls a face, haha!
This one turned out better, such a cutie :) I have more pics of her, but I think this is the one that might end up on my wall. I always keep some photos for myself, post the better ones here, and pick one that I frame and hang with the other fosters. A wall with good memories, and that's what I'll have of Abby as well :)

Playing and discovering
Abby was playing but she often can't resist some cuddles in between :) But her eyes just kept getting darker and it didn't last long before she went back to slapping and throwing around the toy! :O
This one scores high on her current favorite toy list, although she's discovering balls as well last few days and loves to race around the house with them!
This was her first time in a higher basket (it's on top of a big scratching barrel), and she seemed to realize for the first time that there's a wholeworld garden out there! Quite interesting, but also scary :)
Another toy she enjoys a lot is this caterpillar-like thing
But she can just sit and be pretty too :) I love how her mouth area is split into 4 opposite black/red areas ^_^ The brown thing on the floor is part of a scratchingpole that came with her from the shelter, and she always ignores it, haha. Oh, and she also isn't using the cardboard one I picked up for her either! But I haven't really seen her attempt to scratch my carpet or floor anymore and she does seem to finally understand scratchingpoles more, yay! This morning she was playing with the big, high pole that I have and based on the looks of one of the poles in her room (made from carpet) she has used that a little bit as well :)
